BoSox vs NYY
Beeing a Maine translant and living most of my life in the NY/NJ area I am a NY Yankees fan in the midst of BoSox country. How exciting is that?
the greatest rivalry, in sports, of the past 100 years
I have been a fan of the New York Yankees for the past 28 years. In 1986, while at a New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox, baseball game, I saw Spike Owen, SS, and Jim Rice, LF, try to catch a foul ball down the left field line at Yankee Stadium. A Yankees fan grabbed at Rice's hat and pulled it off his head. Rice literally went into the first row of stands to retrieve his hat from the Yankees fan. That's how bitter this rivalry has become. I am sure a Red Sox fan would lunge at Alex Rodriguez if he was trying to catch a ball near the Red Sox dugout this year! What a rivalry. So many great memories - Babe Ruth, 1978 playoff, Johnny Damon, Mike Torrez, Roger Clemens, etc!!
love the Yankees hate the Red socks
look just because I am from Maine dose not mean I have to love the Red Socks, I like baseball and I like talent, and lets face it, Boston may be doing great now but for all the years they got close and choked, because of the " curse " if he Babe had that much power he would still be alive today, now lets look at NewYork, they have had good seasons and bad, more good then Boston, and when tey had a bad season it was not because of some " curse " it was because lioke all athleates the let thair abilities get the better of them and played as induviduals, how ever we were glad they had a coach who coukld pull them togeather as a " TEAM " brin them back to being one of the best ball club in the league. If you want an example just look at the past few weeks ofthis seasone and the ability to go from the worst to back in contention, I say no more
