If you want to add an extra attention grabber to your cover letters, consider adding a P.S. at the end. This will focuss attention on your most marketable attributes. An example would be:
"P.S. I was the first intern ever to receive the
Employee of the Month award at The Bangor Daily News"
or
"P.S. I developed excellent writing and editing skills as a volunteer tutor my senior year"
Typing or writing in very neat handwriting is acceptable, I guarantee it will be the first lines read by the recruiters!
P.S. Remember, it is very important that the fact be true, the first example is not true, for me, I was not a BDN intern! Recruiters are going to check these facts as they are something that gets their attention and keeps it!
