Kids for Fitness Challenge
April 28 - May 2, 2008 the children of MY GYM Children's Fitness Center in Brewer will be learning about healthy eating and healthy exercise. Not only will the children be engaging in their weekly classes of exercise, dance, relays, gymnastics, and games, they also will be learning about the importance of proper rest, exercise, and diet in order to be healthy. The Food Pyramid will teach a balanced diet of grains, vegatables, fruits, oil, milk, as well as meats and beans.
In order for the children to learn that a healthy life style is important for EVERYONE, parents will be invited to join their children in warm up exercises and games. The children will also be learning to help other children who may be physically challanged, cognitively delayed, or economically disadvantaged.
My Gym Challenged America (MGCA) is a fantastic organization dedicated to children facing challenges. The president of MGCA is physically challenged and has suffered a brain injury as the result of a devastating accident 20 years ago. He founded MGCA to help challenged children reach their potential. During April 28- May 2 MY GYM Children's Fitness Center of Brewer will be providing the opportunity to make contributions. MGCA has provided scholarships not only to over 20 individual children in the greater Bangor area but also to several community organizations.
So call MY GYM April 28- May 2 to schedule a free guest class for your child. See the importance of developmentally appropriate exercise, learn how proper rest and diet is essential for a healthy life style, and donate to MGCA in order to help ALL children reach the physical fitness needed to develop the self-esteem necessary for future success.
