Seth Yentes of Monroe to Challenge Republican Mike Thibodeau
for House Seat 42

MONROE
– “As Representative for District 42 of the Maine State House, I pledge to bring real security for the
hard working people of WaldoCounty,” stated Seth Yentes in announcing his
candidacy. “I will work hard to bring about change at the
local level and as a young adult I will bring a new perspective to the
challenges we face today.”

 “Real security for hardworking people rests on 3
core issues,” Yentes continued. “These are:

·       
well
paying jobs, not working two or three just to heat the
house; 

·       
affordable
health care, not being worried if your child can see a
doctor should she become ill;
·       
and,
support for local farmers and small businesses so
that Waldo
County
prospers.”

“Being born
in Frankfort and raised in Monroe where I live now has given me a strong
foundation for listening to and understanding the folks of this district,” said
Yentes. The district encompasses the Waldo
County
towns of Brooks, Jackson, Monroe, Swanville, Waldo, and Winterport.

As a Monroe
volunteer firefighter he
demonstrates his care about the safety and well being of his community.

Currently Seth is working in the construction
business as a carpenter.  He lives on a
small farm growing vegetables, chickens, pigs, and other livestock.  As a teenager, Seth cleared and planted a two
acre orchard with a variety of fruit trees. “Planting and nurturing my orchard
has given me a good sense of what it’s like to learn patience and the benefits
of long term planning.”  The fruit tree
nursery business that has grown from this endeavor has been a lesson in
understanding issues of the small business owner.  He also teaches part time at Toddy
Pond
School
and gives private cello lessons.
