OLD TOWN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - On Friday, Jan. 18, the Gotcha Leaders at OTES presented the book “Ten Little Words” to the school.  Thom Harnett, State Asst. Attorney General, and the leader of the Civil Rights Team project in Maine wrote the book.  It is a true story about a little girl who is teased and harassed on the bus because of her appearance.

The hero of the story is a little girl who stands up against the older students with “ten little words.” Her message is to “stop picking on her, she is my friend, your words hurt her.” Some of the students’ bus drivers (from Cyr Bus) showed up for the last reading of the day!  The message to all students was to carry Martin Luther King Jr.’s idea into our world and “be kind.”
