The peace inititive.

Recently, the wife and i began a discussion concerning the war in Iraq. That base line topic was about the very frequent broadcasts on the local television stations that continuously inform us of yet another Soldier who has fallen victim to the war.

At the behest of one of my College Professors of a few years back, i opened a dialog with Vladimir Gaestonov, Former KGB Official of the former U.S.S.R.

Our conversation lasted approx. 35 minutes, to which i was introduced to humanity on a level i had never seen before.

This individual, Mr. Gaestonov, Once held much power within his grasps...and much anger.

We began discussion concerning the Past cold war era, and of the contrast of then, to the Present war raging within Iraq.

It is widely believed that the present day war, cannot, and will not be won, without a solid peace inititive.

The words of this man, now older and frail, clearly showed a passion for life, where there was once just anger and loyalty to the communistic regiem.

Where there was once hatred toward the western world, is now a very deeply rooted concern...and rightly so.

Where there was once a mission to thwart internation Espionage from outsiders attempting infiltration into the now former U.S.S.R., Is now a true determination to speak out against such wars.

In the final moments of our conversation, it was more than clear, that this gentleman was weeping, and clearly concerned for the events that are but a tic away.

...If a man of such great power and authority of the not so long ago can turn to the visions of peace, to better humankind from the devestation that we are capable of unleashing, then perhaps a message is there for us as well.

A peace inititive....Exactly as he termed it...and a very sound idea, indeed!

While this entire post may seem pretend and / or fantasy, it is all real, very real, and so are the dangers in the Iraqi war.

What is more real, even than that, is the possibility that we, all mankind on the face of this planet, are in the times where the 3rd world war can become a reality, and a Nuclear armament, unleashed with a force strong enough to devistate all life on the planets surface.

If you study history, and are up to date with modern nuclear facts within USA, CHINA, KOREA, RUSSIA, [and a few other hotspots], then you will already know the dangers that are but a moments time away.

If you care about the planet you reside in, and you hold life to be dear and precious, then please, PLEASE contact your local Senators, Representatives, and the Governors office...Tell them it is time to end this war, bring our troops home, and create a resolve with peace...
